“Always, at the end of the day, the important thing is only and always that: Get back to work. This is a path for the courageous and faithful. You must find another reason to work, other than the desire for success or recognition. It must come from another place.”
Every time I find it difficult to get started or get back to writing or blogging, I read this. Actually those thoughts on writing was one of the reasons I thought “what the heck – why not blog”. I have been afraid of showing my writing to others. Mainly because some of it is diary-like personal contents. I have no problem whatsoever showing my professional writings, i.e. exam papers and the like, to others. I have been blogging personal writing before (under a pseudonym) at a shared blog. Then I realized I had a lot of ideas and tips about writing as well as an ongoing quest for finding my personal voice so I decided to start a professional blog. And this is it! And beware – behind the profession there is a person. Me.
Re-wording Gilbert: “I will not pre-reject myself. That is your job, not mine. My job is only to blog my heart out, and let destiny take care of the rest. I never promised the universe that I would blog brilliantly (actually I did. But practice makes perfect, right.); I only promised that I would blog.”
